Joining Arcanum Vox

Arcanum Vox is recruiting

Recruitment PosterHave you found yourself giggling at the calamities of others? Perhaps because you caused it? Well, we here at Arcanum Vox love a good laugh, and we adore a good hunt! While we're not chaotic evil, we pride ourselves on law and order, and we find that tempting the darker side of life is a better way of achieving our goals than walking in the path of light.

We are looking for people who share our philosophies. If we have piqued your interest, you should really visit our about page to learn more about our methods and principles.
If, on the other hand, you are absolutely revolted by what we do, then you are probably someone we'd kill. In which case you should keep your head low, lest it comes off!

We do not have a class, house or race preference; in fact, we accept people of any level, even if you can't PvP. We'll teach you everything you need to know, show you how to get your skills set up straight then teach you to kick ass and take names in the name of Arcanum Vox. Click here to join!

Since the game isn't out yet, we reserve the right to change things here or there to better suit the game.

Why you should join us

The guild will make every effort to provide a safe haven for you to relax, chat and discuss things with people who share your vision. It will serve as your first stop to look for group members and sparring partners. We will arrange guild-wide PvP hunts to the far corners of the world and fight in the arena as a guild, and as a whole. We will make every effort to meet the demands of our players for loot/token/skills (whatever the mid-to-end-game content will be) and expand our crafting skills.

Members will be given their own signature and will gain access to guild facilities not normally available, such as members-only loot and private guild halls and arena (if that is possible).

In the end we will form a lasting friendship that will, hopefully, transcend the game we're playing and go well into the future of MMORPG's and beyond. It's more than just a game, it's a game where friends log on to have fun.

What infrastructure will be in place for the guild?

We will use TeamSpeak for voice communications during guild events. TeamSpeak is free and very easy to use. While we do not mandate a microphone, it is required that you listen in, as voice communication during encounters is absolutely vital.

We understand that some people dislike voice communication for any number of reasons, as such, we will make an effort to explain encounters in text beforehand. We have a web site (obviously, as you are reading this document on it) and a forum, which we expect members to visit regularly, both to ensure that they are able to participate in guild events and to share information, strategies and knowledge with other guild members.

What we want from you

We want ruthless, skilled PvP'ers with good hand-eye coordination, a cA voice and nothing moreunning mind and a desire to crush the opposition into oblivion. We want people of evil alignment; for a detailed explanation of what we want, you should read up here.

Goody two-shoes and people of neutral alignment need not apply. We really aren't looking for people who role play evil just to get into the guild. If it is your intent to hack and slash your way to victory then this is indeed the place. If it's only something you find to be a passing interest then this may not be the right place for you. The last thing we want is for people to join, then quit shortly after a join a guild dedicated to fighting evil.

Preferably you should own a microphone and have TeamSpeak installed (it's free). We require someone with a mature mind set and a decent command of the English language. Sorry, but there will be no non-English branches of Arcanum Vox, although you are more than welcome to join even if English isn't your first language.

We are not -- let's try this one more time -- We are NOT a communist/socialist guild. We do not pool our money/equipment and equip the destitute and the poor. We're not averse of helping people, though, so if people need help, we will help them. Just don't get the idea that this is a free lunch, because it's not. If you want something you don't have, steal from someone who has it, and if they try to take it back, you kill them.

The rules of Arcanum Vox

How are these values realized through the actions of the officers and members of the guild? This will be expanded upon in more detail in the guild charter, which is being agreed between the founding members of the guild. However, the following points are examples of the behavior that is expected of Arcanum Vox members.

  • Progression within the guild will be based on an open and transparent process. Nominations for rank of Praetor can be made by guild members, as well as by existing officers. Promotion to Praetor will be based on the contribution that members make to the guild's ability to progress and will be based on a vote of existing Praetors.
  • You must, at all times, bear the insignias of our guild, be it in-game as well as out-of-game. This pertains to forum and official clothing.
Bear it with pride. If people keep a healthy distance from you when you bear your guild sigil, that means you've done a good job killing people.
  • We do not flame other players in any public forum, nor do we degrade ourselves to participation in threads that may be directly linked with that of a member, or even our guild.
We may make fun of actions, but we never make fun of individuals. We may be evil, but that's no excuse to badmouth people.
  • A key guild principle is economic viability. While we do not expect our members to pay for everything, we do want them to know that it is not the senior staff's responsibility to pay for day-to-day stuff, and that guild members are responsible for paying for at least a part of their own costs.
  • You will respect your fellow member, and any issues you cannot resolve between you will be dealt with by a senior member of the guild. If you have a problem with a senior member, take it to the senior member's boss.
  • Act Mature. We all appreciate a good sense of humor, but there's a fine line between being funny and being obnoxious.
Talk and act in the way you want people to talk and act to you.
  • You are evil and as such, you will act evil.
  • You are not to expect handouts from any member of staff, as it is not the guild's purpose to spread or divide wealth.
If you find yourself low on gold, you can ask guildies for advice on procuring said wealth, but you shouldn't expect freebies just because you're a guild member.
Likewise, the guild will not take your hard-earned property and distribute it to everyone. While we are certainly not above helping our fellow guild members, we don't believe in an egalitarian philosophy either.
  • You will not attempt to double-cross, cheat or in any way harm a fellow guild member. Doing so carries a severe punishment.
